Can We Donate to Your Cause?

These are some challenging economic times. And for some, it's even tougher. Non-profit groups and organizations that rely on voluntary donations from members and the general public are not seeing the level of participation as in past years. Even public schools are seeing major cutbacks. Where can these organizations turn to?

Millbrae Dental Care has decided to take action. We have an operating budget which has also been impacted by the slowing economy. But, we'd like to see if there is some way that we can help. We would like to hear of organizations that need or are seeking some financial assistance. We'll see what we can do to assist and work with them in their fund-raising efforts. Times can be tough, but they can also foster creativity and new ways of doing business.

If you're part of an organization or know of one that is looking to raise money, awareness or facing some challenge, please send us an email at info@millbraedental.com. Include your contact information and a quick summary of the problem or challenge. A lot of smiles might come from taking this first step!

Smile at Dinner - It May Be on Us!

With some helpful insight from a couple of patients, we have decided to make it easier for subscribers to win our monthly contest to our E-Mail "Start Your Day Smiling" Newsletter. In order to enter, all you need to do is --- to be receiving it! That's all! The newsletter is free, so just make sure you're signed up. See the box in the right-hand column. We never spam or share your information with anybody else and you can always opt out.

Each month we send out our newsletter which has three basic stories that we like to share. All with the intention of getting people to show off their healthy smile. There's always something funny to see or hear. A contest for people to win. And finally, something interesting or helpful about your teeth or our community.

For December we're giving away a $100 gift certificate to the restaurant Il Fornaio! Use it for a romantic dinner, take-out meals or a nice weekend brunch. Smiles are contagious, so let's keep them going.

Six Minutes of Pure Fun

A seemingly ordinary guy by the name of Jud Laipply had an idea. Why not demonstrate how things change over time -- like dance moves. So, he practiced and practiced. Then, the opportunity came. It was at the end of a presentation. The crowd loved it. So have a lot of people. Someone caught it on video and now it's been viewed over 130 million times! If you have 6 minutes, it's worth watching and of course -- smiling over.

Win an iPhone!

This month's "Forwarding" challenge for October is an Apple iPhone. How do you enter? First, sign up for our MDC newsletter. You can do that in the box on the right that says "Start Your Day Smiling."
After you receive your reminder to Smile, roughly once a month, forward it to your friends and family. When we get confirmation that they're signed up, you'll be entered. The more people you get to sign up, the more entries you'll get.

Why would you want to have others sign up? Each month, we want to remind everyone to Keep Smiling! We'll do this by sending out some healthy teeth and smile facts, a funny message, or simply a great SMILE quote to get your day started. Not a bad way to start your day, right?

For details on our monthly contest. This month's challenge contest ends on October 31st, 2009. You can view the contest guidelines here.

Get Your Cash for Candy This Halloween!

We're putting our money where your children’s mouths are!

It is well known that too much candy can lead to uncomfortable dental problems. Millbrae Dental Care, is doing something about it...while contributing to Millbrae AYSO soccer program for Halloween candy brought into our office by local children!

The office will be making up to a $2500 donation ($10 for each student) to Millbrae AYSO & giving each child up to $10 ($2 for every pound, for the first 250 children) of Halloween candy that children bring in! We've named the event “Cash for Candy.”

Children also have the option of donating their "Cash" to the AYSO - for a potential donation of $5,000! It begins Monday morning after Halloween & lasts until Thursday, November 12th, 2009.

No appointment is necessary. Children must be accompanied by an adult and are encouraged to simply walk into the Millbrae Dental Care office between 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Monday through Thursday. The office, located at 88 Capuchino Dr., is at the corner of Broadway and Capuchino Dr. in Millbrae.

Monthly Contest Guidelines

It our intention here is to get more people smiling! In doing so, we are sponsoring a monthly contest as a reminder to our patients and friends on the benefits to showing off their smile. We wanted to keep our contest as simple as possible, so the focus is on seeing and experiencing more smiles, not on reading contest guidelines.

Here are the basic rules:

1. Every month we will send an E-mail to those people who have elected to receive our electronic newsletter. Each person on our list is eligible to win our monthly prize.

2. All eligible entrants must be located between San Francisco and San Jose, CA. Only one person is eligible, even though they may have more than one E-mail address.

3. The Monthly Prize Winner will be drawn randomly from ALL the monthly subscribers.

4. Contest is NOT open to employees/contractors/temporary employees of Millbrae Dental Care employees or their families. Past winners must wait 12 months in order to be eligible again for this random drawing.

5. We hope to continue this contest for a long time, but reserve the right to stop it at any point.

6. If you have questions, drop us a note at: info (at) millbraedentalcare.com

7. Prices must be claimed in-person at our office in Millbrae along with proof of mailing address (when needed).

8. Winners must agree to allow Millbrae Dental Care to use their name, photo and any quotes with them receiving their prize for communication or news purposes.

9. iPhone pize is not actual phone due to required contracts. iPhone prize is a gift card for the amount of an iPhone with 2-year contract.

10. Winners are responsible for any taxes, fees and/or contract agreements that they may occur. Millbrae Dental Care is not responsible for additional charges that may be needed or are in addition to the prize that is being offered to contest winners.

10. If you don’t win, we hope that you will still remember to keep smiling. This is our primary intention for our current and prospective patients. Why is this so important? We believe, "The shortest distance between two people is a smile." ~Author Unknown
